Blossom and Flowers

Over at Try it on Tuesday our challenge for the next 2 weeks is Say It With Flowers.

This inspired me to create an art journal page full of spring flowers and quotes.

I started by recycling a birthday card envelope, that had a pretty pink tulip design on the inside, to create my background. Then I coloured the rest of the page with creamy yellow acrylic which I mixed using Parchment and Cadmium Yellow Liquitex paints. When dry, I arranged some tape measure pieces around the page along with a tulip washi tape sticker and some gorgeous flower designed quotes, postage stamps and border stickers which were from a Floral Shoppe Graphic 45 Sticker sheet. To finish the page, I added three yellow pearl gems.

For more inspiration please pop over to Try it on Tuesday to see the wonderful Say It With Flowers creations from our Guest Designer and my Design Teamies too (grin!). I hope you are inspired to join our challenge; it would be lovely to see you there!

As T Stands for Tuesday, here’s my friend’s cappuccino and Earl Grey tea, isn’t that tea cup and saucer adorable with all those gorgeous flowers (smile!) – Happy T Day everyone!

Hope that you’re all staying safe and well!

Thanks for joining me today! If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.

  1. This is a gorgeous spring flower page Jo. The rulers were nice additions; they really balance out the page. This is also perfect for Valerie’s spring challenge at AJJ so thanks for sharing with us. And that is a pretty tea cup for T day. It’s always fun to see your inspiration. Have a great T day (or hope it is going well so far) And happy week ahead. hugs-Erika

  3. I love how you recycled that envelope. Great that you deconstructed it to find the lovely pink tulips inside. Those rulers are a nice touch, but I think my favorite are the stickers from G45, my favorite scrapbook paper and ephemera. Stunning way you brought it all together with the paint, too. It’s also a perfect addition to Valerie’s theme at Art Journal Journey, too.

LOVE that dainty tea cup and saucer. I worry that I would break the set, though. It’s truly a lovely addition to T this Tuesday, dear Jo. Thanks for sharing.
