Nature

Today I’m sharing a nature page, from my mini art journal, for this month’s The Leaves begin to Fall challenge over at Country View Challenges.

This page features some beautiful Stamperia papers including a collage of leaf images for the background, a pretty bird sitting amongst some oak leaves and the “Nature” wording.

I started by cutting lots of leaf images from a piece of Forest design paper by Stamperia and collaging them onto the page using gel medium. When dry, I edged the paper pieces using a Dark Sepia Faber-Castell marker smudging the ink with my finger. Next I fussy cut the bird sitting on a branch, the three oak leaves and “Nature” wording; they were edged with the Dark Sepia marker and then stuck in place which finished the page.

I hope you are inspired to join our The Leaves begin to Fall challenge over at Country View Challenges too, if you do, you’ll have a chance to win a £20 voucher to use on the Country View Crafts (grin!).

The autumnal design and oak leaves on my page were also inspired by recent visit to the Royal Oak in Garstang with our family.

As T Stands for Tuesday, I’m sharing a beer that we enjoyed …

… and some of our delicious food; this is chicken, bacon and leeks in a Lancashire cheese sauce – yum!

Hoping that you are all staying safe and well!

Thanks for joining me today! If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.

For the sake of brevity I’m no longer listing the individual items that I used to create my page, however I’m more than happy to let you know which particular product was used if you contact me via comments below or using the following contact me link.

  1. Stunning journal page, Jo. I was especially impressed with how you delineated the various grids. I love that you also used brown ink to run around the edges. It’s a lovely nature inspired piece that also has a vintage feel. It’s perfect for Wendy’s theme at Art Journal Journey, too.

What a beautiful place to eat. The Royal Oaks looks like it would be a lovely place for your beer and food. The meal with the cheese sounds perfect. I have a weakness for cheese. That means I could never be a vegan. Thanks for sharing your impressive journal page, your meal, and your beer with us for T this Tuesday, dear Jo.

  3. Hi Jo – I do like the way you have made the background with a patchwork of skeleton leaves. It provides a quiet, gentle background for the little bird and its branch of beautifully coloured autumnal leaves.
I like the sound of that Lancashire Cheese sauce (love Lancashire Cheese) in your casserole and there are a fair few chips to go with it. Coupled with a beer and a day in Garstang it sounds very nice indeed.
    Hugs, Neet xx

  4. Your leaf page is gorgeous Jo. I haven’t seen that paper, but I like it too. That bird is adorable and really finished off your page. And that beer looks good. And you dish sounds good too. I haven’t seen anything like that: it is fun to discover what new to me (at least) things other people eat. I bet it was a fun outing. I hope you had a wonderful T day, and thanks for linking your pretty page up to AJJ for Wendy’s challenge. Hugs-Erika

  6. Your art piece is gorgeous Jo. A few leaves are beginning to fall here in Connecticut US.

I’m hoping to rejoin the T-Gang soon (maybe even next week!). My wrist is finally well enough to where I can type for longer periods of time without it starting to ache / strain.

  7. What a gorgeous autumn page, Jo! I love those leaves. Beautiful!
The Royal Oak Hotel looks like a nice place. We would have stopped there had we passed it. Your lunch looks delicious and the beer makes me thirsty just looking at the photo.
I’m sorry to be late again, but as I’ve mentioned before, we are not home on a Tuesday and I can’t get to my computer.
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  10. Fabulous page Jo! The papers are beautiful and the bird and branch perfect focal point.
It’s funny you mention Garstang, I was looking for a place to stay overnight on our way to Lancaster, and the Royal Oak popped up (sadly booked up)!
