Tiny Mouse Street Art

My art journal page captures happy memories of our time in Puerto de la Cruz (in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain) and shows you how a tiny mouse can inspire creativity!

To see how this page came together, please check out this video, which is under a minute long. Here’s the link to my YouTube channel Let’s Art Journal, please feel free to Like this video and Subscribe to my channel too.

In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to combine mixed media techniques with Stamperia papers, die cuts and a stencil creating this unique and fun art journal page. From the vibrant colors of the mouse house in Tenerife to the whimsical charm of our furry friend, every element comes together to tell a story of imagination and inspiration.

For this mixed media art journal page, I used white gesso, acrylic paint, Stamperia products including Washi Pad, Volume Paste, Stencil, paper pads and Die Cuts along with some Lustre Wax and the ‘Tenerife’ wording from a postcard that I brought back from my travels.

Here’s the house in Tenerife that inspired my page, can you see the mouse yet?

How adorable is this tiny mouse (smile!). The mouse house can be found in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife along the beautiful Calle Mequinez, which has lots of large murals on the sides of buildings and also smaller ones, like this mouse popping out of a mousehole, on the building facades – so very cute!

As T Stands for Tuesday, I’m sharing a café latte, hot chocolate and the cinnamon buns that we enjoyed at the Señorita Canelita café whilst in Puerto de la Cruz – Happy T Day everyone! I think the tiny mouse may like the cinnamon buns too, as they are topped with cream cheese frosting (smile!).

Thanks so much for joining me today. If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.

Happy and creative wishes! x

Happiness

It’s the first Friday of the month, so it’s time for our new challenge at the Creative Artiste Challenge Blog, which as always is Anything Mixed Media Goes.

As it’s November, I reflect on things I’m thankful for, which always makes me happy; so today I’m sharing a happiness page and one of my favourite wood effect techniques using Distress Inks and matte gel medium (smile!).

To see the wood effect technique and how this mixed media page came together, please check out my short YouTube video which is just over a couple of minutes long.

This tutorial shows the essentials of how I created this art journal page taking a step-by-step approach and showing you the mixed media that I used. Here’s the link to my YouTube channel Let’s Art Journal, where you can like this video and subscribe to my channel should you wish.

Autumn Joy

It’s the first Friday of the month, so it’s time for our new challenge at the Creative Artiste Challenge Blog, which as always is Anything Mixed Media Goes.

Challenges

I’m so pleased to join Alison/Craftytrog with her theme of Autumn Colours and Inspiration‘over at Art Journal Journey with my autumn page.

Create

I had fun creating this page using some new crafting goodies from the Create Happiness range by Vicky Papaioannou from Stamperia.

To create the background, I collaged some blue design papers using a glue stick and I outlined the pieces using a fine line Uni Pin marker and a Sand Spectrum Aqua marker. Next, I added some Pébéo white gesso over the top of the papers using a brayer. The pretty bird in the photo frame was created by layering together: a photo negative frame from a Create Happiness Ephemera pack by Vicky Papaioannou from Stamperia; some birch tree cardstock; and a bird image from a Secret Diary Washi Pad by Vicky Papaioannou from Stamperia. I arranged them onto the page with more of the tickets, labels and postage stamps from the Ephemera pack, birch tree cardstock and Secret Diary Washi Pad images and also some little butterfly stickers, a small tag tied with wax twine and three buttons. I added some leaf washi tape stickers and then the “Create” wording, which was from an Atelier des Arts chipboard pack by Stamperia. To finish, I splattered the page with white Liquitex acrylic paint.

As T Stands for Tuesday, I’m sharing my decaf oat milk latte, that I enjoyed recently at a local café, and joining our wonderful hosts Bleubeard and Elizabeth, who ask us to share a drink related post each week – Happy T Day everyone!

Challenges

I’m also joining Art Journal Journey and the lovely Halle of Halle’s Hobbies, who is hosting her I’ve Got A Notion theme with the buttons on my page.

As you’ll find birds, foliage and butterflies in the garden and also on my page, I’m reminding you still have another week to join our In The Garden challenge at Try it on Tuesday too.
