It’s time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday which for the next two weeks is Summer Blooms.
My page was inspired by some beautiful Provence Stamperia papers that were full of summer blooms.

Having chosen one of the 8×8″ pages from the Provence paper pad, I wanted to extend the background across my page so I painted the page with washes of Violet, Ultramarine and Sap Green Kuretake watercolour paints. Then I stamped the page using a couple of Kaisercraft stamps and some Distress Archival Inks; this included a Script stamp using Seedless Grape ink and a flower stamp from a Magnolia Grove stamp set using Seedless Grape and Peeled Paint inks. I used a Paperbabe Stamps stencil to create the vertical stripes on the page using a baby wipe to remove the watercolour paints.

Next I stuck the 8×8″ page in place and edged it using some striped washi tape. “The Lazy Days of Summer” wording was cut from a 12×12″ paper sheet by Graphic 45 and to finish, I added the butterflies and watering can Die-Cuts which were also from Stamperia.
For more inspiration please pop over to Try it on Tuesday to see the wonderful creations from our Guest Designer and my Design Teamies too (grin!). I hope you are inspired to join our challenge; it would be lovely to see you there!

Lavender in the garden always reminds me of summer and the butterflies seem to love it too; these are Painted Lady butterflies.

This one’s a female Common Blue butterfly.

As T Stands for Tuesday and summer is here, we’ve been enjoying these chilled fruity drinks – Happy T Day!
Hope that you’re all staying safe and well!
Thanks for joining me today! If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.
Challenges
As well as Try it on Tuesday, I’m pleased to be joining the following challenges:
The lovely Chris from Pearshapedcrafting is hosting over at Art Journal Journey this month and has chosen When We Were Young so I’m joining her with my page as when I was young I experienced lazy days of summer during summer holidays.
Paperbabe Stamps and their #173 – Anything Goes challenge with my summery page.
LTCCB#156 – Anything Goes over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog with my summer blooms art journal page.
MIUCB#60 – Anything Goes + optional Clean & Simple over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog with the techniques I used to re-create and extend the background on my page.
This is just gorgeous Jo! LOVE the colors and those beautiful papers! Just gorgeous! Have a fantastic week! ((HUGS)) Helen

Love your fabulous journal page, and your flowers look good, too, so retty with the butterfly. M balcony flowers didn’t do well this year, too much scorching sun! Your drinks look great, yum! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

This page is so pretty Jo. I love the delicate feel it has. And I actually had lavender flowers this year for the first time in the several years since I planted my plants. And nice butterfly photos too. I have one monarch that is flitting around my gardens for the last few days. I look quick and think I have an orange little bird. It is always great to see what nature brings. And your drinks do look refreshing. It’s very hot and dry here. We need about a week of solid rain. Have a great T day and week ahead. hugs-Erika

Yo are a genius, Jo. I LOVE how you extended the 8 X 8 square to fit your journal page. It has given me an idea and inspiration, too. I’m sure Chris feels the same, since you shared it with us at Art Journal Journey using her theme.
Those soft drinks look so refreshing and cool. I’ve never had Lychee, so that surprised me. Thanks for sharing these three soft drinks, as well as your art, with us for T this Tuesday, dear Jo.

Beautiful page. I’d like to walk through the garden gate and into the garden. Your lavender and butterflies are so pretty. When the girlies were little we got a painted lady butterfly kit. They fed the caterpillars and then watched as they spun their cocoons. And the wait until they emerged as butterflies and could be set free. Thanks for the happy memory. Happy T Day

That is such a lovely page, Jo! I love those Provence papers very much, so summery and dreamy. Lavender is wonderful, isn’t it? I enjoy it so much as well, and the bees and butterflies have a blast. Happy T day!

I love this page Jo, I can imagine how it smells too! We could smell the lavender on the train when we went through the fields in Provence. What a great way to extend that gorgeous paper. Thanks so much for sharing at AJJ. Loving the butterflies! We are drinking more cold drinks than coffee lately. Happy T Day, Chrisx

You do these pretty pages so well. You seem to have an affinity with making them like this and I just fall in love with them when I see them. The way you have extended the paper is almost uncanny.
I can’t think what to say about this page Jo except how much I love it. It is just beautiful.
