This page was inspired by all the bird activity in our garden and the beautiful apple blossom on our apple trees (smile!).

I started by covering the page with some Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and White Linen Dylusions Spray. Next I added some Pébéo texture paste through a Lace Tim Holtz stencil and when dry I removed some of it using a craft knife to create a grungy worn lace look. The dots were added using Hickory Smoke Distress Ink and a Dot Fade stencil by Tim Holtz. I stamped the birds and sentiment onto some recycled white tissue paper using a couple of Stampendous stamps and black Archival Ink.

The stamped images were stuck in place using Liquitex matte gel medium and I arranged them onto the page with some Dogwood blossom rub-on transfers by Royal & Langnickel.

We’ve had lots of blossom on our apple trees so hopefully we’ll get lots of fruit this year too!

Hope that you’re all staying safe and well!
Thanks for joining me today! If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.

If your fruit yield is half as good as your blossom looks it will be a fabulous harvest.

Spring trees in bloom are just beautiful, aren’t they? I am loving your journal page too Jo. I would like some fabric like that. The lace texture just peeking through caught my eye. It really gives lots of detail to the background. Thanks for sharing your page with us at AJJ for Matilde’s challenge. I can’t believe May is almost over, and I hope your month ends well. Hugs-Erika

Such a gorgeous page Jo! I love the texture you achieved with that paste over the lace stencil and a great idea stamping over the tissue as I forget about doing that! The blooms are stunning both on your page and in photos! Now I’m thinking of all the apples you’ll be getting this Fall! YUM

I really like this. I especially like the font on the sentiment.Stamping on tissue is a great way to find an added use for those extra napkin layers, too. Thanks for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey using Matilde’s theme, dear Jo.
