Today I’m sharing a page that I created to capture my birthday celebrations – thanks so much for all your birthday wishes (smile!).
This page was created from recycled wrapping paper and envelopes that I received for my birthday.
They were simply ripped into pieces, arranged and then collaged onto the page using a glue stick. As it’s my first birthday without my dad, I thought the words “Dear self stay strong” were perfect for my page; this wording was gifted to me by my dear friend Tracey along with other happy birthday mail and goodies – thanks so much!
The present from my sister was wrapped in the Winnie the Pooh paper and as soon as I saw Tigger this is the song I sang (grin!).
For my birthday we went to my mums and had a birthday party; when I arrived this beautiful mum-made birthday cake was waiting for me.
We enjoyed a yummy Sunday roast dinner of lamb and we had Trifle for dessert (smile!). If you are not familiar with trifle, this is a very British dessert made by layering sponge soaked in sherry, jelly, blancmange, custard and cream topped with glace cherries (my mum added extra cherries as I love them so much!).
My sister spoilt us with this delicious Gin Rhubarb Fizz too and as you probably guessed I had such a wonderful day! As T Stands for Tuesday I’m sharing this drink with the T Gang and wishing you all a Happy T Day – cheers!
Hoping that you all stay safe and well! x
Thanks for joining me today! If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.

Such a sweet page – I love Winnie-the-Pooh, especially the illustrations by E.H.Shepard. The Disney characters don’t have any real appeal to me. During one of my many visits to England we went Ashdown Forest and walked there (beautiful area) and of course we played pooh sticks on Pooh Sticks Bridge (together with many Japanese). The cake looks delicious – how sweet of your mom to make a cake for you and also a trifle! I simply love trifle! It looks like you had a wonderful birthday,

I love that Tigger song. It reminds me of being a kid. That was fun wrapping paper, and that is a fun page. I love how you used bits and pieces from your birthday to make it. And your cake and trifle looks delicious. Trifle is really yummy. I make it occasionally, but not sure i make it quite the way its traditionally made in Briton. Thanks for sharing your page at AJJ for Alison’s challenge. Have a great week ahead too. hugs-Erika

I’m delighted you had a great birthday.I was even more delighted to see you recycled your wrapping paper and your envelopes, too. You did an incredible job with the journal page and the sentiment was so poignant and thought provoking. It was also great to see how you were able to combine your lovely birthday page with Alison’s theme at Art Journal Journey. Thank you for that.
Your trifle looks wonderful and you look like you got two beautiful birthday “cakes” to enjoy, too. And of course, the gin fizz looks wonderful. Love the pink color, too. Thanks for sharing your art, your birthday meals, and your gin fizz with us for T this Tuesday, dear Jo.

Oh I love Winnie the Poo! I am of an age that I don’t appreciate the Disney version, but prefer the original drawings, so I really love your page. You must miss you dad very much. I know, I miss mine too. (I was a daddy’s girl).
Your birthday cake was beautiful. But the mum-made trifle takes the biscuit (giggle). That is the most beautiful trifle I have ever seen! That will be my benchmark from now on. (My mouth is watering).
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

What a great party! We love trifle too (though sometimes it’s a use for a cake that broke). The Pooh wrapping paper is great, and very creative to find a way to save it.

What a lovely birthday you had. Love the cherries myself so can imagine how nice it was to have so many on the trifle and the cake looks gorgeously delicious.
Love your Winnie the Pooh paper which you cleverly made into such a delightful page in your journal. Have just seen that Aall & Create’s Janet Klein is bringing out a whole selection of Pooh stamps.
Belated birthday wishes,
Hugs, Neet xx

Glad you had a good birthday Jo. Sending you belated wishes.
You made great use of your wrapping paper and envelopes on this wonderful page. That song takes me back to when my children were tiny, they both loved Pooh Bear and his friends.
The cake and trifle look delicious, I love a trifle. Have to eat it without cream now I’m dairy free though, just not the same. My mum used to crumble up a Cadbury Flake on the top, yummy!
Hope you’re having a good week, and thanks for linking up to my AJJ theme.

Looks like you had a real feast from Mom for your Birthday Jo, delicious trifle and strawberry covered cake. The Rhubarb gin sounds rather refreshing. Your pooh inspired page is fabulous, great recycle. My Daughter loved Pooh as a child she had an electronic cuddly that rambled Winnie sayings. She never left the house without it, caused all sorts of delays when x-rayed at the airport each time we went abroad on holiday.
Happy to see your day was spent with loved ones Hugs Tracey xx
P.S Glad those bits can be put to good use x
