Happy Easter

I just couldn’t resist using my new sunburst stencil which was an early birthday present. As my birthday happens to coincide with Easter weekend this year, I used it to create a page to wish you all a Happy Easter!

I started by applying some Mustard Seed Distress Ink through the Slimline Sunburst stencil from Marianne Designs with a blending tool.

As it was a slimline stencil, I then extended the sunburst design across the page using a ruler and some paper to mask out the sunrays. I used a pretty Easter Treat bag to create my Easter scene by cutting out the bunny in the flower pot, another bunny face and a couple of Easter eggs and making some extra grass spikes. I outlined the bunny in the flower pot using a Cold Grey Faber-Castell marker, and then layered the other bunny face over the top so that it was slightly off centre, which made it stand out more from the background. I added some pretty white and yellow ribbon to the flower pot and then I layered all the card elements onto the page using a glue stick and some double-sided tape. The “Happy Easter” wording was created using some alphabet stickers and I added a ribbon bow and single flower to the flower pot which finished the page.

Here’s the Easter Treat Basket that I used to create this page (grin!).

I love this Marianne Designs stencil! It has two gorgeous A4 slimline sunburst designs as well as a foreground and a cloud mask. It’s such a fabulous birthday present – thank you very much dear hubby (grin!).

As it’s Easter soon, my hubby also treated me to this giant chocolate bunny; it’s huge as you can see from the regular sized mug placed by it – wishing you a Happy Easter!

Hope that you’re all staying safe and well!

Thanks for joining me today! If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.

  1. What a cute page! Happy Easter Jo! Love that great sunburst stencil. Happy Birthday! How clever using the little bunny box to make a sweet greeting. Love the single flower peeking out. Oh, yummy chocolate bunny! Easter is sneaking up on me. Lucky for me that your page reminds me that I need to create an Easter card to send off.

  2. Happy Easter to you and Happy Birthday, too! This is a very pretty, bright, cheery page. Just what is needed for Spring. After seeing your hot cross bun the other day, I sent Honey to see if he could get one, lol. He came back with apple fritters, lol. They had icing crosses on them for Easter so he thought they were a good second choice as apparently the bakery lady looked at him like he’d lost his mind when he asked. heehee Oh well, maybe one day I will get to see what they taste like. Enjoy your chocobunny, I know what they taste like! xoxo

  3. This is a terrifically happy page. What a clever way to use the Easter Treat bag. Remember what they used to say about Christmas presents to some children (possibly me) – give them a present in a box and they take one look at the present and play with the box. And you have great presents from a clever husband too. Your page is very jolly with the happy bunny and the extra eggs hidden in the grass. I’m glad the bunny picked a flower on his way into the bag so that you could join in with the challenge theme at AJJ, thanks very much to you both.

  4. I never got on last night to comment on your beautiful Easter piece Jo. I love those yellow sun rays. Right now the weather is predicted to be nice here for Easter, which is always better than one in the rain-or snow. And That is one big chocolate bunny. I love how his one ear is bent down. Are you going to wait until Easter to take a bite? Hope you have a happy new week. Hugs-Erika

  5. Cute one!!! I started one, too. Well, for tomorrow, ohhh, “happy….” no. Not before it was (German thinking? Bad luck here if you say it before it happens!).
    Biiig bunny indeed!
