There is still another week to join our Winter Wonderland challenge at Try it on Tuesday so I thought I’d create this wintry page to join in the fun; it was inspired by our travels to Prague at Christmastime (grin!).
I started by sticking a magazine image of a couple walking in a winter wonderland onto the page and then I covered the remainder of the page with black acrylic paint leaving a frame of white around the image. Next I dragged some of the black paint towards the image using a flat paintbrush to marry the black and white areas together. I stamped some white acrylic paint over the black background using a piece of scrunched up tissue paper and when dry, I added the wording which was created using some white letter stickers. The snowflakes were cut from some recycled white tissue paper, an old magazine page and some white card stock using a Tonic Studios die set. I layered them onto the page using Liquitex matte gel medium and then to finish I splattered the page using white acrylic paint.
We often visit the Christmas markets in Prague this time of year and as we are staying home this year, I find myself very thankful for all the wonderful memories we have of our time there.
Prague is a magical place especially when it snows and here I am enjoying the snowfall whilst listening to Christmas carols by the tree on the previous photo.
As T Stands for Tuesday, I’m sharing another of my favourites … Kozel dark beer and don’t you just love this sign; Kozel happens to mean “male goat” in Czech (grin!) – Happy T day!
What could be better than walking in a winter wonderland with Michael Bublé too (double grin!).
Hoping that you all stay safe and well!
Thanks for joining me today! If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.

Christmas markets have a real appeal — I’ve been to one or two and Prague is on my list of places to visit some day. So sad that this year many have been cancelled.

A lovely journal page celebrating snowfall. We haven’t had any yet but I always love the first freshly fallen snow of the year. Your pictures from the market in Prague truly do look magical with all the lights.

This is such a fun and interesting page you created. You gave me ideas for blending magazine images with the rest of your page. That in itself is brilliant. You have real talent, Jo. I love how you used the die cuts to your advantage, too. You always put SO much into your art. Thanks, too for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey using Tracey’s theme. I fear I am too literal. You found a great way to tie it to your journal page.
And of course, I loved the “goat” sign in Prague. So sad that so many of these annual events had to be cancelled this year. It was great seeing you in the market place, too. Thanks for sharing your incredible art and your visit to Kozel with us for T this Tuesday.

Beautiful and striking page Jo! I love how you incorporated the photo and the black is so striking.
I’ve only seen travel shows of Prague and it looks quite beautiful. We have that M. Bublé CD amongst all his others and pretty soon the Christmas music will begin in our home:)
Happy T day!

You look so happy in that photo 🙂 I’m smiling with you. It’s contagious, that smile 🙂 Bublé has a pleasant voice, doesn’t he, though his isn’t the one I have in my Spotify playlist. Hmmm, now I can’t remember whose it is I have lol Happy T Tuesday!

I have always wanted to go to Prague, and almost did in 2010. A family tragedy kept me home and I never made it there. It does look magical. I love your hat!!! I read you have been having migraines, I hope you are better now. I too suffer from them. I was told they would go away as I got older…. haaa they lied. LOL Have a very nice day.

This post brought lots of memories of living in the cold north of the US. When we were kids, we hardly felt the cold and didn’t have to drive through ice and snow. So then I loved it. Once I grew up and had to deal with all that, I lost my zeal for winter, but not the winter holidays and decorations all about. I still enjoy the music and Christmas movies very much. Thank you for the music and pictures of the Prague market. Your winter wonderland page is beautiful.
Happy T-day! Stay safe and well. Hugs, Eileen
