I’ve always loved this quote “remember you’re the one who can fill the world with sunshine” which happens to be from a song that was sung by Snow White in the original Disney animated film “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”.
As an experiment I sprinkled Yellow, Orange and Brilliant Red Brusho Powders on the page and spritzed them with White Linen Dylusions Ink Spray and a little water. I mopped up any excess colour from the edges of the page using a piece of kitchen towel and then left the page to dry; I love how the Brushos and spray blended together to give the soft summery sherbet background. Next I stamped the quote using a Concord & 9th Sophisticated Script stamp set with black Archival Ink, I used this ink for all the stamping on this page. I added some highlights to the quote using a white Uniball gel pen and then stamped lots of tiny butterflies using a Butterfly Peiredae stamp set from Paperbabes Stamps. Next I stamped a circular filigree sun shape from Kaisercraft around the edges of the page. Then I used a black Faber-Castell Big Brush marker to edge the page and splattered it with black and also white acrylic paint.
For the large butterflies, I used my stamping platform to stamp the butterfly wings using black Archival Ink to get a clean finish and deepen the colour; they are stamped onto the dried kitchen towel that I used to mop up the excess background colours. I cut them out and stuck them in place using double sided tape, and then I stamped the butterflies body and antennae which are from the same Paperbabes Stamps stamp set which finished the page.
If you’re interested you can find a full list of materials that I used to create this page at the end of this post.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was released in 1937 by Disney and here’s Snow White singing “A Smile and A Song” where the quote is taken from.
This quote made me think of the Snow White musical teapot which sits in our display cabinet; it’s one of my hubby’s keepsakes from 1960’s America where he lived when he was a young boy. I’m pleased to share this beautiful teapot, which plays “Hi Ho, Hi Ho…” when you pick it up, with the T Gang over at T Stands for Tuesday – Happy T Day everyone!
Hoping that you’re all staying safe and well! x

Thanks so much! The Concord & 9th stamp set that I used for the quote is one of my favourites and I would definitely recommend it, it’s easy to use once you get the hang of it and think how the letters would flow if you were writing them 😁. Happy T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x

Beautiful page, Jo. That looks like a very neat script stamp set. I wonder if they’re difficult to align. You did a great job.
I wonder what first inspired this page – the song or that cute tea pot
Happy T-day and have a lovely week! Hugs, Eileen

I have this theory about my internet. It knows exactly when it’s Monday at 4 pm, so it immediately goes offline. ATT said they’d send someone Tuesday morning between 8 and noon. Looks like they did, since I’m now online.
You always come up with the most inventive and unusual journal page, Jo. I love the dreamy background and how you stamped the antenna on the butterflies. Very creative and it made the page even more beautiful. I’m also delighted you shared this with us at Art Journal Journey using Erika’s theme, too.
What a great way to tie your journal page to your T post this week. That teapot is incredible. I am SO impressed your husband has had it this long. Simply wonderful, dear. Thanks for sharing your art and your teapot with us for T this HI HO HI HO Tuesday, dear Jo.

Your journal page has a beautiful background. Butterflies are such a happy insect. And that Snow White tea pot is Amazing!! We love snow white in our house. And how fun that it sings. Hi Ho is still one of my daughter’s favorite songs, although she sang, Hi Hole. Such a wonderful piece. I am so glad that you shared.
Happy Tea Day,

What a lovely page! And what a lovely quote! I probably saw the film as a child but I couldn’t remember the quote. So I played the video of SnowWhite and enjoyed this timeless song.
Ooo your teapot is gorgeous! What an heirloom. Quite rightly it gets pride position in your display cabinet.
Happy belated T-Day,
Hugs,

Yayyy i’m here at last, so sorry Jo busy (boring) busy & for some reason this altered blogger keeps hiding posts from my readers list, so i’m very happy you linked up over @ Paperbabe Stamps, i’m always extra happy to see you there *Thank YOU* Lovely summery page with those bursts of brusho like a hot sunny day, the larger PB Butterfly looks striking in black against it. Beautiful words using the script, the white highlight works really well. A very pretty Summer page.
I love your snow white teapot, I have a soft spot for that film. Reminds me of my Daughter as she dressed up as her for her very first book day character when she was 3 happy days..
Hope you are keeping well my friend? and thank you for the lovely comments you left for me, I’m so glad I managed to find them amongst this messy new blogger interface. Hope your tablet is behaving for you now or you have a replacement? It’s a pain when things breakdown on us..
Sending hugs your way, Tracey xx

Gosh your blog page and the excerpt from Snow White has taken me back a long long time. When I was little and learning to play the piano I bought the score for this film and used to play it with one finger and sing along to it.
Love your sunny page – what a fabulous background made with Brushos and how lovely the script is, and so in keeping with the butterflies.
Gosh I am envious for your teapot, isn’t that a lovely keepsake?
Hugs, Neet xx
