Every year I create a page to capture my goals for the coming year, so here’s my 2020 page – Believe in the magic of new beginnings.
As it was the first time that I have used Paperbabe Stamps alphabet stamp set, I’m joining the Something New challenge that I’m hosting over at Art Journal Journey, I hope to see you there (grin!).

I started by smooshing Peeled Paint and Vintage Photo Distress Ink onto the page by stamping the ink pad onto an acrylic block and pressing the block onto the page. While the ink was still wet I used a couple of Sheena Douglas texture stamps to move the colour around. To create some depth to the background, I applied some white gesso with my finger to the page and then stamped the texture stamps again using Peeled Paint Distress Ink and Vintage Photo Distress Archival Ink. Next I tore pieces of green decoupage paper and stuck them onto the page using matte gel medium. The pretty girl and fox were cut from the decoupage paper packaging. I created the plaque for the wording using a Tim Holtz Pocket card; it is stamped using an alphabet stamp set from Paperbabe Stamps and edged with the decoupage paper. I coloured the wording using an Orange Spectrum Aqua Marker, white gel pen and Sanguine Faber-castell Big Brush marker. It is mounted onto the page using two photo corners so it can be removed.

On the reverse side of the plaque I stamped the wording using the Paperbabe Stamps alphabet set and coloured it using the Sanguine marker. Then I edged the top and bottom of the plaque using some of the decoupage paper. Now all I need to do is add my goals for the year (grin!).

Whilst out walking we noticed that the snowdrops are out already which seems a bit early to me; snowdrops are celebrated as a sign of spring so it seems that mother nature may be making plans for new beginnings too (double grin!).

This is a beautiful page Jo. I like your new stamps. And I also like the women with the fox. And wow, I can’t believe you have flowers coming up already. I know snowdrops should be early, but it is still January. Have a super weekend! Hugs-Erika

Oooo, that red fox! I’m worrying about this false spring and fearing what will happen if winter returns. The weather has been so weird, though, winter may be done. I’m unsure how I feel about that… I hope your snowdrops get to live out their new beginning in peace 🙂

Its a beautiful image of the lady Jo for your latest AJJ page. I love how the fox is looking from behind her skirt. It was lovely seeing the snowdrops as well, we have a few clumps in the garden that I am looking and waiting for them to flower.

That’s a wonderful page! The background is gorgeous, the idea with the paper for the goals 2020 – replaceable! – is great and the pretty girl and fox are in best position on the right side, very lovely!
Oh, snowdrops – the nature is joking, isn’t it?
Wish you a happy Sunday! Rike xx

That´s a great motto. I wish I could see it that way – I´ll try.
In my parent´s garden we had snowdrops, yes, usually in early spring, often through the snow.

Oh Jo this really is beautiful, I love the way you added collage to the page the gesso and over stamping really does add the depth. Your sweet lady standing at the edge of the page is stunning with her friendly fox to keep her company. What an inspiring way to keep track on those goals for 2020, I hope when you look back over the year you have achieved many if not all of them.. :)x
Thank you so much for joining us over at Paperbabe Stamps and playing along with the challenge, it’s always a pleasure to see you there.
Sending Hugs your way Tracey xx
