Our new challenge over at Try it on Tuesday is Springtime.

As usual, you have two weeks to create your art, you can use any medium and digital is always welcome. Don’t forget to check out the wonderful inspiration provided by the Design Team over at the blog too!

Inspired by springtime flowers, I collaged the background of the page using Tim Holtz Collage Paper and some white paper that I had stamped using a lilac stamp; they are stuck in place using Liquitex matte gel medium. As I was experimenting stamping the lilacs using Magenta, Purple, Moss, Bud Green and Chocolate Spectrum Aqua Markers to give a watercolour effect I thought I would use them on this page rather than throw them away. Then using black Versafine Ink, I stamped the “springtime” wording using an alphabet stamp and also added some clocks, both from Docrafts, as well as some bees and butterflies from Hampton Arts. The daffodils are fussy cut from an old flower book and stuck in place using Liquitex matte gel medium. When the gel medium was dry, I outlined them with a black Uni Pin marker. To finish, I coloured the wording using light green, yellow and pink Uni Posca paint pens and then covered each of the letters with Ranger Glossy Accents to give a 3D effect.

Whilst out walking around Glasson Dock for my birthday we saw lots of beautiful daffodils along the roadside.

These daffodils look just like the ones on my page (grin!).

As T Stands for Tuesday I’m sharing our pot of green tea that we had at a lovely café in Glasson Dock – Happy T Day everyone!

I’m glad I found out about Challenge Blogs, like Try it on Tuesday, as I enjoy taking part, they provide me with inspiration for my pages and are a wonderful way to meet like-minded arty people. So here are the challenges I’m joining today:

I’m pleased to join the lovely Wendy from Wendy’s Art and Craft Journal  and her Having Fun challenge over at Art Journal Journey as my page links to having springtime fun.

I’m happy to be able to join the Easter and/or Spring challenge over at Country View Challenges with my springtime page.

I’m also joining in the Beautiful Blooms challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge with the stamped lilacs and pretty daffodils on my page.

Over at The Artistic Stamper, their challenge is New Growth, so I’m pleased to join this challenge too with my springtime page.

Thanks for joining me today! If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.

  1. A gorgeous spring page, seeing the daffodils on your page and in the photo you shared , is a wonderful way to start the day, especially since it is so grey here.
The background you created for the flowers on the page is lovely as well.
    Happy T day wishes Jo.

  3. You really did a fabulous job fussy cutting those daffodils. Wow. What a fantastic page. I does scream spring! And you are lucky your daffodils have bloomed, but we at least have no more snow on the ground. Hope you have a fantastic T day Jo. hugs-Erika

  4. Your pages always remind me of beautiful gift wrap. The daffodils next to the birch trees on your walk are just so pretty. Very Spring. I’m not a fan of green tea, but I like the clean lines of the white tea service. Happy T Day

  5. Your journal page is amazing, I love the daffodils so pretty and bright, I really miss spring flowers living in Spain, we planted about a hundred bulbs when we first moved here and not one came up!

  7. Once again I am running far, far behind. The daffodil in the upper right caught my eye immediately. I didn’t even notice the lilacs until I read about them. I even skipped over the word Springtime, that daff was so bright and beautiful. Great page and it was perfect for Wendy’s theme at Art Journal Journey, too.

I can see where you got your inspiration for this page, Jo. Your walk on your birthday was the perfect time to be inspired by spring.

Wonderful tea time entry with your tea, too. Thanks for sharing it with us for T this week, dear. Sorry again I’m late visiting.

  9. Very nice spring page dear Jo. I love the beautiful daffodils on it. In our garden the daffodils are faded and now the tulips are blooming in different colors. We have very warm weather now an the garden is exploding with flowers all over. I love this wonderful time of the year if mother Nature spreads her wings.
Wish you and your family a very Happy Easter.
