Today’s new challenge at Try it on Tuesday is Slap it on… this could be paint, colour, texture, collage or like me washi tapes. It’s all about having fun and getting messy.
There is some amazing inspiration from the Design Team this month too, so please pop over to Try it on Tuesday to take a look.

Inspired by our new theme and discussions about washi tape collections, thanks to Eileen and Halle, I decided to have some fun and use all my washi tapes to create this page. So in no particular order I picked a washi tape and then simply tore off a piece of tape and randomly slapped it onto the page to form the background. Using all my washi tape stash was great fun and created quite a mess on my craft desk, I even included my Christmas, fabric and metallic ones too; I love the way it turned out with all the different patterns and styles. Next I die cut two stitched edged circles using my Big Shot Machine and stuck the butterflies and wording onto them which are from a Kaisercraft sticker sheet. I thought the words were appropriate for this page, they read “Days like today make me happy” and “Love”. I thought the circles needed something more so I quickly placed some stripes of washi tape onto a piece of recycled card and used a Garden Greens Sizzix Thinlet by Tim Holtz to cut out the leaves. They are stuck onto the circles using a glue stick and then to finish I stuck the circles to the page using double-sided tape.

Last week Eileen and Halle asked us to share our washi tape collection at T Stands for Tuesday so here is mine (grin!). As I don’t use washi tapes that much, I don’t have too many, although I have been inspired to use more of them lately. I’ve used them on this page as well as on my previous post, so thanks for the inspiration ladies!
With family staying last week, we have been out and about enjoying ourselves and as such I have quite a few options for T Day this week which could have included a fun photo of a VW Beetle, taken at a local car show (also on my previous post).

We also have green tea at the Wyreside Café …

…or perhaps a cooling beer or glass of ice water with lemon at The Royal Oak in Garstang.
Whatever your drink preference, thanks for stopping by and wishing you a Happy T Day!
Challenges
I’m glad I found out about Challenge Blogs, like Try it on Tuesday, as I enjoy taking part, they provide me with inspiration for my pages and are a wonderful way to meet like-minded arty people. So here are the challenges I’m joining today:
I’m pleased to join the lovely Yvonne from Meggy’s way, who is hosting A World of Fantasy challenge over at Art Journal Journey with my washi tape adventure art journal page.
As this page includes circles, I’m also joining the Circles challenge over at Moo Mania & More.
Thanks for joining me today! If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.

Thanks very much! I didn’t think I had that many until I started this page and found I only had to repeat a few tapes to fill the background …lol 😉. Have you used washi tapes on your teabag art yet? Have a great week too! J 😊 x

You are a pro with your pages my friend. I would never have the patience to put the pieces on in such a perfect assembly. This is an extraordinary use of washi and I can tell you that I have never seen such a fantastic project with washi on a page yet! Kudos! And how pretty you organized them, that puts my wild organisation to shame…lol! I would take tea and beer ! Yes! Looks both perfect!
Happy T-Day!!!
Big hugs, Susi

Thanks very much! So funny, I actually didn’t take my time placing the washi tape pieces but just stuck them haphazardly onto the page and filled in gaps with the thinner washi tape pieces …lol 😉. My washi tapes didn’t look that neat when I had finished either as I just pilled them up on my craft desk as I had used them, it was such a mess …lol 😀. I had such a fun time though and that’s all that matters! Hope you are feeling much better and wishing you a Happy T Day dear Susi! J 😊 x

What an incredible journal page, Jo. I adore it. It is fabulous. I am so impressed, but most of all, it looks like you raided my washi tapes when you made your fabulous journal entry. I guess you can tell which of my washi tapes came from Chris, can’t you? I love how you found so many wonderful challenges you were able to fulfill with this single, yet oh so colorful journal page. Thanks especially for sharing it with Art Journal Journey.
Yes, I was overwhelmed when I saw how many of our tapes were alike. One that you, Johanna, and Linda have that I don’t but wish I did, is the one that looks like a film strip. Thanks for taking the challenge with us.
I will have tea with you today, or possibly a glass of stout (the only beer I will drink). Thanks for giving us all these choices for T this Tuesday.

I love how you used the washi tape to create this fantastic page. Jo. Each piece could take my thoughts off in another direction. The main focal images are beautiful.
Thank you for adding this to my theme at Art Journal Journey, it is truely a page where fantasies could happen.
Happy T day wishes.

A fabulous page Jo and what a fun idea to use the washi tape in the background, looks like you had fun here. I must admit I forget to use my washi tape, think I need to try harder as some rolls are unopened!
Have a great day.

a wonderful array of tapes on your page! i have some of the same patterns like you (i see a preference of dotted ones;)), but others i never saw before… they seem to be much more expensive in europe than in the usa (they often get coupons for craft stores, sadly this is not a habit here…). i like how you added the two circles to make a page out of it.
happy t-day:)

They are often sold here in the UK for £1 each or sometimes £1 for a pack of 3 washi tapes, which I think is cheap 😀. Thanks very much and Happy T Day! J 😊 x

That is a cool way to showcase all your washi tape AND make a super page! It is fun and does make me happy. I guess if tape can make us happy we are definitely contented people.: But that is a tough call. Green tea or a pint. Hmmmmm. Which would I chose? Hugs-Erika
