I have lots to be thankful for and this quote is one of my favourite tea quotes and was my inspiration for both the “Poetry in Motion” theme that I’m hosting over at Art Journal Journey and also T Stands for Tuesday where I’m pleased to join in the fun with the T Gang!
I applied Apricot and Parchment Liquitex acrylic paints using a baby wipe to the page and then I used various stamps to create the patterned background. This included a doily image by Dovecraft using London Fog Memento Ink, the words “joy” from a background stamp by Great Impressions using Tea Dye Distress Ink and two heart stamps by Hallmark Cards using Rich Cocoa Memento Ink. I printed the teacup image, fussy cut it out, stuck it to the page using a UHU Stic and enhanced the colours and detail by using Sun Yellow, Tangerine, Violet, Mustard, Apple Green, Teal Green, and Leaf Green Derwent Inktense pencils. The grapes and leaves are rub-on transfers by Royal & Langnickel and were chosen to match the design on the lovely teacup image. Next I painted the centre of a tag with Parchment Liquitex acrylic paint and then I stuck a layer of white tissue paper over the top using a UHU Stic, giving it a fabric look. I stamped the wording onto the tissue paper using Rich Cocoa Memento Ink and then I glued another layer of tissue paper over the top. The wording could still be seen through the tissue paper and I went over each letter using a black Uni Pin marker to give a stitching effect. I also edged the tissue paper and outlined the tag with stitch marks using the black Uni Pin marker too. Then I used a Teal Derwent Inktense pencil and a white Uniball gel pen to add texture and colour to the tissue paper so it looked more like fabric. I added some of the rub-on transfers around the edge of the tag and then stuck it to the page using double-sided foam tape. To finish the page, I added two strips of lace.
The quote and teacup image is from this lovely little book, you may remember it from a previous post.
I’m also sharing my cup of green tea in order to join Bleubeard and Elizabeth over at T Stands for Tuesday. We are having it with a chocolate covered choux bun filled with fresh cream, which brings an even bigger smile to my face (grin!) – yum! Wishing you all a Happy T Day!
I hope you are able to join in the fun over at Art Journal Journey by creating a page inspired by a favourite quote, poem or saying; I look forward to seeing you there!
Thanks for joining me today! If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.

Wow, this AJJ page is wonderful. I think you had me hooked when I saw that you had applied your paints using a baby wipe and it looked so fresh and pretty. I’ve heard those Dertwent pencils are fabulous and you have certainly put yours to great use. I also loved the doily stamp you are using. It is fabulous.
Thanks, too, for sharing your tea and choux bun with us for T this Tuesday. Your green tea looks perfect and makes the chocolate bun even more appealing.
Off topic, here are a few more crossover words. Not sure if these have been mentioned before, but here are three more I thought of:
tannoy-> universal brand name for loudspeaker or PA system, like calling a tissue a Kleenex
done and dusted-> completed, finished
chalk and cheese->very different, like apples and oranges in US
I should start a list of my own. That way I would know if it was a new entry or not. Maybe next month, once you have AJJ duties out of the way, you could compile a list. I am sure I’m not the only one coming up with these.

I always enjoy applying acrylic with a baby wipe as you can spread the acrylic thinly and build up the colour gradually 😁. Thanks again for the crossover words, I’m keeping a list of the ones you send me and if I have time next month I’ll be happy to compile another list 😉. Happy T Day! J 😊

A very beautiful journal page–you are certainly sharing so many this month and I hope to find time to do more though my real life is a lot busier than usual.
The bun and drink would be just what I would chose though Vic would have a sausage roll instead of the cream filled choux bun
Have a very happy T Day Jo
Love Chrissie xx

Thank you Chrissie! That’s understandable and I hope that your MIL gets better soon. I’d be just as happy with a sausage roll but only if they are served cold not hot … lol 😉. Happy T Day! J 😊

Hi Kristah, that sounds perfect to me as I always enjoy sitting down with a cup of tea and reading people’s blogs. Thanks very much for your lovely comments 😁. I picked up the book in a charity shop and I think initially it came as part of a gift set, it’s such a wonderful little book 😁. Wishing you a lovely week! J 😊

Another lovely page! I sometime wonder what you do with all your beautiful pages. Do they go in a book?
The vintage teacup is so lovely. It’s a shame people don’t use tea service anymore. My mum still has hers, but uses mugs!
Happy belated T-Day,
Lisca
PS I enjoyed Elizabeth’s addition to the English-American dictionary

Thanks so much Lisca! I crop the photos to just show the page on my blog posts, my pages are actually in a spiral bound pad and once the journal is complete I cover the front and back of the book. When each journal book is complete I always sit down with a drink to look through the pages to remember what I’ve been up to. I also have a book stand in my craft room where a different page is displayed everyday from one of my Art Journals; it’s lovely to look at the page and recall the memories associated with it! If you are interested you’ll find more information and photos of what I do with my pages on a post I made earlier this year which is called Art Journals 😁. I love old china teacups too and we have some lovely cafés that use them, I like them even more when they are mismatched too … lol 😉. Wishing you a Happy belated T Day! J 😊
