With winter days upon us, there has been an abundance of beautiful frosts and also snow on higher ground, which inspired me to create my own Frozen Wonderland.
The background started with some leftover silver metallic paint from another project, I applied it to the page in patches using a baby wipe. I then painted Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink onto the page, by applying it to an acrylic block and diluting it with water so I could use a paint brush. I stamped flower heads using the same Distress Ink and a Royal & Langnickel stamp, and then applied this stamp again using London Fog Memento Ink to create layers of foliage. My mum kindly bought me a card that I saw while we were out shopping, which I fussy cut using my scissors and also some patience as it took some time with all of those spiky details on the thistles. I stuck them to the page using a UHU Stic and added further details with a black Uni Pin marker. To finish the frozen and snowy effect, I used snowflake stickers, outline stickers, pearl embellishments and gemstones.
As frost reveals itself at first light, I am pleased to be able to join December’s theme of “Light and Darkness” over at Art Journal Journey. In fact Valerie, who is hosting this month’s theme, posted some amazing photos of frosty weather recently which really captured the winter landscapes in all their beauty.
Now the cold weather is here, the local café I visit with my mum has winter specials, so we had this very yummy Winter Spiced White Hot Chocolate and a piece of toasted tea loaf with butter – delicious! As T stands for Tuesday, I’m saying a big hello to the T Gang and looking forward to chat and catch up on what everyone’s been up too – Happy T Day!
Thanks for joining me today! If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.

Ok, first things first, the coco sounds soooo yummy, and coco is always best with some toast. I think the fact that toast never overpowers the coco. And secondly Jo, I am loving your latest piece. Valerie has had some gorgeous frosty photos, and I can see how you were inspired. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika
